Kane had initially rejected the idea of reverse engineering the GDIOrca. Preferring to retain the more tried and tested Apache, due to their much lower heat signature and more modest maintenance requirements. However, advancements in the wake of the war caused him to reconsider this decision. The resulting VTOL was dubbed the Hornet. A fusion of both GDI and Nod aeronautics, capable of easily eliminating infantry and lightly armoured vehicles with it's twin LASER cannons.[1]
